We arrived at the Minneapolis St.Paul Philadelphia International Airport just in time to see the sunrise over the sculpture that was on display. The detailed paper installation had everything from bridges to trains to houses and buildings to machinery with cargo boxes. The only thing missing were the people — which didn’t matter at all because there was so much hustle and bustle going on around in the airport that it seemed like the paper town was also hard at work and getting ready for the day. For more information about the artist and her work check, out her site here. I am a big fan and especially like her Shadow Puppets and her other Works on Paper.

This is amazing! Breathtaking. I wish I could see it up close too, pressing my face against the glass. And, yes, the people outside, zooming past and hopefully stopping to admire cannot help but insert themselves into that space, inhabiting it with their imaginations.
